The thing that sticks out most in my mind from this week is being in court for my client in Bellflower. Spending a day in court is always a learning experience. I pay attention to everything that's going on.
District attorneys are on a mission to get convictions. Public defenders are on a mission to get through their case load as fast as they can.
I appear in court when the attorney on the matter has requested me to be there for bail. Either the attorney feels his client will be remanded, or his already existing bail will be raised.
I also appear in court for my clients when they feel they may need me there for any reason. This time I was not needed. I still enjoyed my day with my client & of course we had a great lunch at a rock n roll cafe.
What I learned from the day is that undercover cops, & informants are looking grungier than ever! I saw a heavily tattooed man with dirty long hair. He looked homeless & I wouldn't doubt if he had a drug habit. Then you look down and see his police badge around his neck , & his police force issued .45 gun on his waist. It was an incredible juxtapose to see!
Don't get caught slippin! Stay ready & always have my number! 818-602-7676
