Normal procedure.. I called to see if he was cleared for bail. The jailer told me she had not started the process because nobody had called to ask about him. This was the first bad move & bad sign.
Saturday after negotiations with my client all went through I went to post the bond at 6pm.
The jailer comes out and looks a ripe old age of 12 or 13 maximum, uniform dripping off of him too big to even be worn. He says to me "today's my first day on the job, you're going to have to show me how to do this"... At that point I should have been an asshole & said no! I'm a softy & I was in a really good mood & so I walked him thru it.
At 10 pm my client was still not released & I called to ask what was going on.
Sheriffs believe they are superior to all mankind, & also believe in acting punitively. After one inquiry sure enough my phone rang & I knew it would be them!!!! Sure enough a different jailer called & said they could not accept my bond because I didn't provide a xerox copy of my agent license. This is a big fat lie. I provided it, I have them, I've been doing this 9 1/2 years. I was so livid I asked very politely to speak with the watch commander. Long story short at 10:30 pm in the rain I was back in my car on my way back to Pico Rivera.
When I got there... I WAS NOT NICE.
I told them I would not be intimidated by them! I told them they were liars, I told them to go ahead & pull me over when I leave, that I was ready for there bitch moves. I also told them I should not have to train their rookies. ( they hate that term) I also said I would be waiting until my client was released this time.
Some girls all dressed up for Saturday night in heels & dresses were there for some reason & when I went outside they followed me & said .. "How can you do that? You look normal!"... They said you have tattoos & look normal, aren't you afraid of them?
I think at this point in my career I am at a pivotal point. I know what I'm doing and I refuse to be intimidated by them. If I get arrested so be it, I have a kick ass attorney & somebody knows where I am at all times. I will get you out of jail. This is my job. I do it to help people, I do it because it is our constitutional right!
