VALLEY LIFE & the QUEEN OF BAIL

As you know I am from the San Fernando Valley. I love the valley and throughout history the valley has always been a unique and original trailblazer! From Rodney Bingenheimer's nightclubs to the porn industry, to Van Nuys Blvd cruising, to skateboarding, to punk rock,  to low riding it's always a trendsetter!!! Last night my girlfriend pulled this bar out of her top hat and blew my mind! 

This bar was something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie! In the middle of nowhere deep in the valley somebody came up with an Alice in Wonderland concept bar! I don't want to say too much about it because I want you to enjoy the experience firsthand. All I can say is it was so much fun such & an experience! Something that you will only find in the valley of course! 

QUEEN OF BAIL

I've been accepting payment terms with a few clients lately. This works out perfect sometimes, & sometimes not so much. It's never fun to owe your bail bondsman. Nothing about bail or jail is "fun"... But I try my best to make it easier & more pleasant. Things could always be worse. We must all remember that. 

HOLLYWOOD BOND GIRL

Hollywood is always full of tourists. Mobs of them outside of my office. They really enjoy all the sights. There are two new watering holes on the Blvd, it's a fun place. If your in the neighborhood stop by get a free poster, sticker, or Tshirt if I have your size in stock!

Last night I got a bond call at around 9:19 pm. Drug possession, $20,000 bail amount. 

The client asked if I would do it for 3%. 

All bail agents are licensed thru the Dept of Insurance. It's basically a government job. The state of California mandates what we can charge. In California it is a 10% premium. We are allowed to go as low as 8% if you are a Union member of have an attorney referral. 

Each bond we write has a cost to us. Just like every other industry business has its cost. We pay our insurance company their own premium charge to us. 

Now I'm writing this so people know how ridiculous it is to ask a bail agent to write your bail at 3%...  Do your math, & ask yourself if you think that's what bail agents get up in the middle of the night and put up $20,000 of their own money for. So that YOU, can get out of jail. 

I love my smart clients that understand this is business, it's not personal.
