WALL OF DEATH & The QUEEN OF BAIL

This Labor Day weekend the Bond Girls and I are going to have a booth at the Ventura Nationals. 

One of the most exciting things to do at this event is the Wall of Death! I have never seen it in person, I've only heard about it. The Wall of Death is a vintage live action thrill show. The Moto Drome is a silo shaped wooden cylinder 30 feet in diameter where, inside, motorcycle daredevils travel along the vertical wall performing tricks and acrobatic riding! 

It has a super carnival feel to it. I am so excited to see this! Stop by the Queen of Bail booth and get some goodies! Meet your favorite Bond Girl, get on camera, and be a part of the Kustom Kulture of SoCal!

QUEEN of BAIL, HOLLYWOOD & EL CHAPO

Catch my interview in this one hour documentary! I had a great time filming this. Originally we filmed the interview at slash's from Guns N Roses house in the Hollywood Hills. I dressed how I wanted to be perceived. I dressed to feel confident and comfortable. 

A few days later the producers called me and said let's do it again and let's get you more in your natural habitat as opposed to your work habitat. 

So I feel like I just put something on and didn't really think much of it. We changed the location from slash's house to Burbank Moto bike shop in Burbank.

They did the entire  interview with me leaning up against a chopper as if maybe it was mine.

As some of you may know my office has been in Hollywood for many years now. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley it was one bus line into Hollywood. I've been going to Hollywood my entire life and I've watched all of the changes. Throughout history Hollywood has been a very popular place in California, it's a tourist attraction and it's also an attraction for its locals and surrounding areas. People from all different counties come into Hollywood to party on the weekends. With the plunging economy in 2008, Hollywood took a big hit. Hollywood Boulevard has gone through so many changes, starting with the corner of Hollywood and Highland. Many beautiful clubs restaurants and bars have sprung up on every corner.

Right now Hollywood is getting a bad reputation for being a downright dangerous place to go. The nightclubs do not have enough security, the police do not have enough manpower, the Hollywood Police station does not have enough manpower or space. The crime rate is extremely high. Both men and women are getting mugged, getting in physical altercations, stabbings are common, and the bottom line is is people are getting hurt. 

The latest is a nightclubs permit is being pulled due to violence. A young male DJ slipped into a coma and died after getting into a fight at a hollywood nightclub.

I was recently at a hollywood nightclub and I did not have fun. Friends of mine got hurt, two fights broke out. I even got hurt just for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. A flying bottle hit me in the foot and damn hard and was swollen for days. What can we do to make Hollywood safer? I think for one thing security at clubs should be better trained, and they should probably be double the amount of guards. Be safe, be careful, be aware of your surroundings. I feel sad about Hollywood right now because when it's too dangerous people stop going, when people stop going people lose money, & that's bad for all of our economy. What can we do?

BAIL BONDS HOLLYWOOD

This weekend was busier than your typical Valentine's Day weekend. I dealt  with corrupt sheriff Jailer's, crooked Bail Agents, rude & incompetent sheriffs on the phone, and some polite police at the metro Detention Center in Downtown Los Angeles. 

If I saw more criminals getting arrested, I think I may be less critical of the sheriffs department. If I was sitting in the lobby and I heard about crime being stopped, or violence being stopped, or anything significant, again I would be less critical of the sheriffs and the police. But this is not what I hear. 

I have clients that are in custody on traffic violations, or drunk and disorderly, and I know that there is plenty of violence, rapes, burglaries and home invasion robberies going on. 

While I was sitting in the Parker center jail lobby, I saw a young man who looked very upset walking around in his socks, with a swollen eye and a bloody scrape on his nose. I couldn't help but ask him if he was OK. He told me that he came out of a Hollywood nightclub, could not find his car, (it was towed) and was mugged by three guys. They stole his shoes, the keys to his car and his wallet and his phone. When the cops show up they arrest the victim for being drunk in public. How shitty is that!? There's nothing that I hate more than a thief! Sometimes my career can be very frustrating but for the most part I know that I am helping my clients. Please be safe out there and maybe don't hate Mondays so much. If you didn't wake up in jail, be happy!!

This weekend has been crazy busy! Typically weekends like New Year's Eve, Super Bowl Sunday, & Halloween, are the busiest times for me. This Valentine's Day weekend has been the busiest in years! I am open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, all cities and all jails! I feel very good about making some very stressed out people feel a lot better this weekend.  They are home to be with their wives, girlfriends, boyfriends and husbands, mothers and fathers. Enjoy this Valentine's Day and celebrate with love!

QUEEN of BAIL BONDS & LADIES in POWER

This morning as I'm up early and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee I can't help but feel so incredibly happy and blessed reflecting on the amazing women I have around me. This weekend was full of events all curated, organized by, attended by & for women! 

The Sizty Sixers is a group of harley davidson riders,  hosted a wrench event at Eagles Nest Cycles. Female Riders from BLAQUE PEARL spoke on road safety, riding in a pack, & other helpful things to remember. We had delicious donuts, custom cookies by Belle Estanni, coffee, and a couple of beers too! This was followed by a run to Cook's Corner in orange county for some comradere, music, & absolutely perfect weather. 

Sunday was an all female artist art show in Hollywood! The name of the show was called "love me love me not" curated and hosted by @yhercat, A beautiful young lady who is on her way to the top with talent and ambition. The most powerful female artists in the Graffitti game were all there supporting each other and doing live art installations. It was incredible to see. To top it off we had the female MC the one and only Fawksie One! She did her thing, entertained us all and she killed it! The artists featured were Kymmi Roc, Deity Art, Ruthy Jane anong others. There were vendors, food, shopping,  art and more art at a beautiful space right there in the heart of Hollywood on Gower, it was too cool! 

This weekend was so special to feel all of the support, the empowerment, and the love from all of these confident, ambitious, and intelligent & talented women! Whenever we do things like this, we attract and draw even more confident women into our circles. This is what it's all about, this is how we get ahead! I'm so grateful and proud of all the ladies involved in so many wonderful projects in Los Angeles. HOLLYWOOD BAIL BONDS QUEEN of BAIL

I fully believe in the law of attraction. Last night was a perfect example. If you Google hollywood bail bonds, Raquel Queen of Bail Bonds is the first business that comes up. This is not because I paid some search engine company.  I do not pay for Internet advertising or any of that pay every time somebody clicks or calls on my Internet listing. 

I got a call from a client, we negotiated everything, I checked my bullshit meter, and it was very low, so I went ahead and met the client at Hollywood Jail. My client rolled up in a beautiful car, and they get out of the car and they happen to be gorgeous themselves. We immediately clicked & started talking about all kinds of things as we got the paperwork done. Turns out of course these new clients are artists. Of course they are! That's the only kind of clients I seem to attract! As we were leaving the jail I handed them one of my giftpacks filled with glitter and candy & my card ...they said to me, "you really make a bad situation not so bad and actually nice"... They said this to me as we stood there and looked at the most frightening bail bond office with the neon lights right in front of us. We laughed and said yeah you don't want to have to deal with that! 

Last night was affirmation of everything that I have strived for my entire career! I went home so happy! And I'm pretty sure my clients did too! Bail bonds on a completely different level for completely different people!

BOND GIRL RAQUEL

I get bond calls from people that want to offer 1% on a bond. What people need to remember,  is like any other business there is a cost involved. Wholesale, for lack of better terms for people to understand.. Basically I have to pay for the bond, and then I resell it to you. Just like any other manufacturer makes their product for certain cost, and then sells it at retail. So it is ridiculous to offer 1% on any bond. Not only will but not cover the cost of the bond, but I also have bills to pay like everyone else. Being a Bail agent is a government job. The state of California mandates what we are to charge people. Another thing to remember is large bonds like 100,000 and over, all require collateral. 

It's amazing to me that people think they will never need a Bail bondsman, you most definitely will. It may not be for you but it will be for somebody you know, and it's beneficial to have a basic understanding. Feel free to call me with any of your questions. 

WEEKEND & THE QUEEN of BAIL BONDS

The weekend is here. There's always one thing people regret not doing... It's called a walk around the car. Walk around your car with the motor running, make sure all the lights work, make sure your turn indicators work, make sure that the light over the license plate is working...be sure you're running lights and brake lights work. Something as simple as a license plate light can get you caught slippin.

Having your own business means you never stop thinking about it ever. I have a full calendar every month. But sometimes I must pick and choose the events that I go to. This weekend and last weekend I decided I needed to slow down a little bit. I just can't make everybody's party or show. I feel bad but I really needed the rest. This weekend I stayed home and during the day I just spent time with family, it was just what I needed and it felt great. I met with some clients and did a couple of bonds and got a lot of rest. If I missed your party or your show or your event I will make the next one! 

Remember to get your rest! Take care of yourself, and don't get caught slippin!

Being a bail bondsman is not your everyday job. One of the most important talents a bail bondsman needs is being able to recognize crazy. Next is being able to weigh out the pros & cons. When you use a bail agent, the bail bondsman is basically lending you the full amount of the bail. You, pay a premium. It is a small insurance policy. 

I get a lot of calls. Recently I got a call from someone in a county not close to Los Angeles. The client was hysterical & crying. 

So let's see, so far we have highly emotional & far away....

Our next step was to follow up in the morning. I call & get a voice mail. The outgoing message sounded BONKERS. Then, my favorite thing ever.. A mail box that is full. 

So let me go over my pros & cons here...

As you can probably predict, I will turn this bond down. Two or three grand is not worth the headache & potential cost to my business. 

I do care about these clients, & honestly my thought is they may need a medical 

diagnosis.

Attorneys can make our lives a lot easier. I think the bad reputations attorneys have is a little unfair. I think personal injury attorneys are a large reason for that stereotype. At the end of the day it's all in what kind of feeling our intuition tells us. Your stomach is never wrong. I know I can tell a shady sneak a mile a way. 

I am grateful & fortunate that I have met &  have established excellent business relationships with some top notch attorneys. Attorneys I would trust with my own safety & freedom. However there are not many.

The attorney I favor may not suit the personal need of another, or one may prefer a male, one may prefer a female.

I do have a sense of loyalty to my attorneys & I can only hope they feel the same towards me.

With all that being said, there are times my client may have his own attorney and I must work with them. This is fine by me. I enjoy meeting people and I enjoy & love my career. 

Yesterday I met a very rude female attorney. I was & still am so very disappointed in any woman in business that cannot be a lady & be professional. 

I understand that attorneys have their own bail agents, just as I have my own attorneys. This is no reason to be rude. 

Also definitely no reason to give yourself the image of being an awful unprofessional person. People that are only polite selectively will never be a good person. 

As they say "common manners" are not so common.

Being in fear of our law enforcement is a very eminent situation. "To protect & serve" isn't a reality most feel. Law enforcement are never held accountable for their actions. We must try and send a different message.  Going to this protest is important. This event is right by my office and the Hollywood police dept will surely be ready for this day.  Be safe & say hi if you see me!

It's the month of love... Valentines Day is almost here. Crimes of passion are the best crime story's ever. 

The closest people to you are the first suspects in haenous crimes. 

Maybe this Valentines Day a crime can be something extremely kind. So sweet it's a crime! 

Or maybe something as simple as a meal that was so bad it was a crime... 

I hope everyone has decorated and feels love this whole month!

When I first started my business, there was really only MySpace. My main source of advertising was physically going to shows, & events by myself and handing out my flyers to people. 

With all the internet advertising & having a commercial airing in ABC 7, still physically going to events is the best way to get my name out there.

Yesterday I went to south Los Angeles to a daytime event at a shop called LAND MARK. It's in the heart of South Central LA. The owner of the shop had live graff going on, Og Huskey Radio were on the 1's& 2's.. Black book signings & $1.00 beers & taquitos. 

I had a great time. These event's to me are so very inspiring. Here's a young man making things happen. This guy isn't saying to himself that he can't do this or that without a huge business loan from a bank. He's just doing the damn thing. It was beautiful weather, yummy food, cold beers, great art, great music, & an all around great vibe. I'll be sure to go again!
