BREEZEWOOD LA CONNECTA

A few years ago one of the most interesting pictures from an event that I sponsored happen to have been with a member of Breezewood La Connecta! I've been intrigued by them ever since.
The end of this year marks a special date for them!
Breezewood la Connecta is an all spanish hip hop group from southern California (west coast) that is influencing the world with a combination of mexican culture and street life style of Los Angeles califas. Their new single "EL MISMO CABRON DE SIEMPRE" is available now on itunes courtesy of DEAD SILENCE RECORDS. The single talks about the everyday life of breezewood la connecta and the pride of always staying the same person, humble with your feet planted on the concrete, rich or poor. This song shows that with heart and confidence in yourself, you can confront any obstacle that life hits you with.  "EL MISMO CABRON DE SIEMPRE" (the same mutha fuckas as always) is the first single dropping from their up and coming album ESTELLAS POBRES EL CAMINO REAL..
They were recently interviewed  by the only hip hop radio station in COSTA RICA. Check it out here:  http://radios.ucr.ac.cr/radio-u
This band is fresh, creative, and guaranteed good music with a great show! Pay attention if you hear their name, you won't be disappointed! Support the arts and especially your local artists!

This was a great collaboration of young artistic creative and ambitious people! I definitely wanted to show my support! DJ Handprints was spinning, and you know he always kills it. Below Poverty Level was in the house, along with Saints, & Vin Baker & more!

QUEEN of BAIL at the BLACK BOOK CHARACTER BATTLE

As you know my girl Kym from CBS Crew & I hang tough. She was invited to participate in an art show that was a live art installation and also a workshop for kids to learn how to draw and paint from some of the best artists in Los Angeles. I really didn't know what to expect but I always support those that support me and there's no way I would've missed my girls show.
The show had live art installations which is really exciting to watch. The DJs that were playing were killing it all day!!  I really enjoyed DJ Disarm! There was food, there was drinks, there was candy. Everyone had a great time! We were there from beginning to the end, just partying all together. There was a lot of stickers going on, a lot of black book projects and a lot of networking. I must say thank you to all of the artists and Cale Fine Arts for putting on this event. CBS Crew was definitely in the house, OG Huskey Radio was in the house too! Below Poverty Level was in the house as well!  It was super fun. Also thank you to Pellegrino Printers in Glendale for hosting!
Be sure to find Kym on Instagram @kymmi_roc  for art, merch & more !

QUEEN OF BAIL & CBS CREW

I'm very grateful to have a super tight knit group of supporting women around me. One of these amazing women is my friend Kym from CBS crew. She is the best female graffiti artist in Los Angeles. She and I are working on a project thats going to inspire women, motivate women and represent women! These things take time and we're patient and diligent!
Yesterday we met at RQOB headquarters
to get organized and ready for the next step. Of course we have our party time together as well. After all this is Hollywood!
Here's a sneak peek at some of the things that were working with! Girl power!

BOND GIRL RAQUEL

Everyday I check the jails for clients, look up penal codes, or do somthing in regards to bail bonds. Jail, crime, sheriffs & cops & even my clients can be extremely exhausting.
I make sure to have a balance in my life.
Last night was part of the balancing act.
Armond Hammer Museum in Westwood invited me & a guest to one of their summer nights in their courtyard. It is such a great event. Of course the museum courtyard is beautiful & set up with a cocktail bar & food. Tables with white table cloths and candles & plenty of seating. They featured a jazz band named Beep. The trio performed their electro set. Their set was not what you would imagine at all from a jazz band. It was dark, fuzzy, moody and all around fantastic. The crowd is very UCLA, & also plenty of the local art community of Los Angeles.
These are nights I truly enjoy. Take a look at the pictures, & know that if you needed bail, I would have been there for you at any given moment.

STREET ART SHOW & AUCTION

My clients are the low brow of LosAngeles. I wouldn't have it any other way. Through the years I've been fortunate enough to bail out a few of the coolest people around. Some of them are in Crews. Law enforcement may call that something else. From artists to taggers the charge is the same, it's called vandalism. One of my all time favorite client cases was vandalism. Needless to say I think it's clear I support the counter culture and all of the arts.
Last night one of my friends Kym from CBS Crew had a few paintings up at Juliens Auctions Gallery in Beverly Hills. The show was curated by Ash Hudson an artist, designer & photographer. The show was packed and a huge success.
It was very exciting, with good cocktails too. I was so proud of my friend and very grateful to have been invited.

RAQUEL QUEEN OF BAIL

Mixing business with pleasure is one if my favorite things to do. Before I got into Bail Bonds I had many jobs I did not enjoy...MANY. Although I learned a lot from every single one of them, I'm happy to be my own boss.
In Los Angeles now is the time for a few people to get together & collaborate our skills.  This meeting here is the beginnings of that. I'm here with my friend Ray from City of Angels Photography, & Michael Ramirez from Buck Wild Designs & Buck Wild Brand. My friends are with is because, a cocktail or two is always in order. This is L.A.!!!
I'm so excited about this project. Be sure to read my blog for the latest. I'll be sure to post about it.

QUEEN OF BAIL LOS ANGELES

The Teen Angels Art Show was this weekend. I really didn't know what to expect other than I knew it would be authentic. The address of the show smacked of authenticity right from jump. I was a huge fan of Teen Angel Magazine as a kid in the SFV.
Me and about 6 of my friends decided to go check it out. It was pretty crazy. The whole Blvd was packed with sick low riders & cruising. There was barely room to walk on the sidewalk, & I actually got anxiety. The store was tiny, but I was able to get sandwiched inside & get a look at the art displayed. Outside there were rad low rider bikes! They got a lot of attention. The event really thought of everything, a taco truck was right there ready for all of us. Highland Park was & is the perfect spot for a great Saturday night. There was a pretty solid absence of cops & no incidents whatsoever. We all went to my favorite spot right there on York Blvd after the show for a drink. Super good times in Los Angeles. Cars, cool cats, art & cocktails. That's the Queen of Bail's favorite things! People were friendly & said hi! Good times in Los Angeles.

QUEEN OF BAIL

The first week of June is here and it started out great.  Saturday night I went to an art opening at the Samuel Freeman Gallery in the arts district of La Cienega. The artists name is Phil Bower. The shows name was "nudes" it was a collection of paintings. I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in ten years! It was D.H. The singer of the Dead Kennedy's! He looked Great! He recently wrote a book called  King of Afro Punk . He's touring with Peligro and he's clean & sober. It showed! I was so happy for him. It was a great night.
Sunday morning my friends & I went to the world famous Ciros in East LA. If your from Los Angeles, you know about Ciros. It's the best food in East LA. Of course it's a tiny hole in the wall with the best juke box ever. Oldies, to funk to Patsy Cline. A perfect place for a business brainstorm breakfast with great friends!  After a heavy breakfast of authentic Mexican food we really needed to walk, so we went to the Hollywood Farmers Market!! All local farmers organic fruits, vegetables, & baked goods. Homeboy Industries has a booth there & we always support them, this is Los Angeles!!!
Sunday night I sponsored the MMA  fights at LA LIVE NOKIA! What a night! What a weekend!  I am so grateful for my friends, family, my business & my city!! Now it seems odd, but I'm working on a bond on a Tuesday morning. You would think it would be Friday night. You just never know when you may need bail! Stay ready & don't get caught slippin!!

BOND GIRL RAQUEL IN THE 805

My friends at Bone Deep Tattoos in Camarillo have been there for a long time. This says a lot about a business, especially a tattoo shop. Tom Hardin is the owner & he's a very cool person to know. If your in the 805 area, this is the only shop to go to. They support the Queen of bail, & I'm sure you will get a beautiful tattoo! Check them out on Instagram & Facebook under "Bone Deep Tattoos".. Tell them I sent you!

DONT GET CAUGHT SLIPPIN

Being in Los Angeles has an effect on people. We all run in the same circles. RQOB has always catered to the underground. The counter culture is the majority of my clientele. This was a major reason I got into bail bonds in the first place. It's awkward to say it's "fun"... Nobody in jail is having fun!!!!
But let's remember I LOVE my job!
To me it is fun ! I love getting people out of jail! I love the stories & situations too! I love hearing them, talking about them, & being involved to the end.
I must say thank you to my friend Tim Hendricks for only using RQOB for bail & giving me a shout out.
I first met him with Juan Puente, they had an extra ticket to SLAYER & I was there! I drove down to San Diego at the drop of a call. Honorable clients never have to get out of bed in the middle of the night with me in order to get someone out of jail. I make it easy!
Tim Hendricks got me over 75 new friends on Instagram almost instantly, & over 250 views on my blog with one shout out. I love having superstars as my clients!!! Thank you to Tim, & everybody who took the time to peep my blog!

BOND GIRL RAQUEL

My Dad always saves articles or literature or books on topics he thinks are poignant  for me. This Sunday morning as I drink my coffee, I'm reading an article he saved for me on the corruption of the former Council members of the city of Bell. They are facing 10-12 years in prison.
This was interesting, but what was even better was on the flip side of the L.A.Times article.....
"Arts thriving in a modest venue" is an article about a young man who saw a complete void of the arts in his community of Maywood, Cudahy, & Hunington Park. So what did he do? He opened an art space in his garage! I love this!
Nobody really cares if some rich guy is building another sky scraper. I personally love an under dog story. I love it because it gives me hope. A young man of 25,
Mr. Contreras created an open mic night, art gallery, music & photography all available to his community. The well known poet & author Luis Rodriguez even took notice and read "Poems across the Pavement" at the garage space.
These people are inspiring and I admire them. It's also a bonus that they're Latino! I hope this story inspires others as it inspires me.

QUEEN OF BAIL

Yesterday was a great day I went to YouTube Studios in Los Angrles for a Substance Over Hype party. The place is amazing and food and cocktails were everywhere. Warlock from Funny Bones Dance Studio performed with some other kick ass dancers from Los Angeles. Parkour performers, break dancers, camera men, digital graphics, special effects, all went into the films we screened. It was a great time. It can't be all bail all the time can it? Oh wait, yes it can! Stay ready & don't get caught slippin!

BOND GIRL HOLLYWOOD

All bail and no play makes a grumpy bondgirl!
Keeping it creative and artistic is key to happiness !
Warlock from Funny Bones Crew & Funny Bones Dance Studio is a breath of fresh air for me. Any given day at my office can be a very different experience.
Here's one of them!
